Our Story

From a Morecambe furniture shop to one of the UK's leading flooring specialists.

One of the longest established smart home specialists in the country.

KQC began in 1990 as a family furniture business in Morecambe, started by brothers Paul and Karl Greenall. Within two years there were three retail units; by 1994 the business had come north to Kendal, and by 1996 the move into carpets and flooring had begun, learned, characteristically, from the ground up.

Three decades on, KQC is recognised as one of the UK's leading flooring specialists, known for innovating in service and aftercare, and by 2006 the largest flooring contractor within fifty miles. Every project, residential or commercial, private client or developer is fitted by KQC's own employed craftsmen, more than twenty of them, never subcontracted.

Still family-run and now guided by the next generation of Greenalls, KQC spans three showrooms, Kendal, Knutsford and a wood flooring studio in Chelsea and brought its floors to House of Carvetii in 2025.
